Marine and River Litter Elimination New Approach

Municipality Administration of Demirkoy is registered with Public Low in 1953. Demirkoy is responsible for general management of the public services in the scope of the municipality borders.

The municipality administration has more than 40 people staff and all needful administrative, technical and financial resources for management and realization of international projects.

Demirkoy Municipality administration in the current MARLENA project will realize activities relating to the ensuring of the sustainable conditions in frame of the municipality for preventing development of illegal dumping in the riverbanks of local rivers and preventing flooding of the rivers in the town. Also, the institution in its role of LP will ensure professional management of the project activities in Turkish part, good coordination of all project activities, timely reporting and daily communication between all project partners.

Demirkoy Municipality administration has got developed two projects, under the national grant programs of Thrace Development Agency. TR21-11-KOA-1-22 - Trakya Development Agency: The first project we in the field of culture. Under the project was developed one cultural park in the centre of the city, where youth receive a chance to participate in the cultural events and activities. Project Budget: 40.000 euro
