Association for Sustainable Development

Association for Sustainable Development "Prut -Dunare" Galati known as FLAG at European level (DG MARE and FARNET) is involved since its set up in 2011 on increasing awareness of the population on the necessity of developing the FLAG rural area; increasing interest of the public and private actors regarding new opportunities within the Local Development Strategy; increasing the number of complementary initiatives on development the FLAG area; increasing access to information and education. ADDPD Galati has constructed 10 members that provide a balanced institutional representation, bringing both economic interests by representatives of business and private organizations in the fishing sector, and social interests by public authorities, public institutions and organizations, representatives of non-governmental sector in the area concerned. ADDPD Galati represent a local partnership between the public and private sectors made up for the purpose of sustainable development of Prut-Danube Area of Galati County and its enjoys a broad engagement and support from local communities.

The ADDPD Galati s Strategy was developed on "bottom-up" approach, identifying the problems, opportunities and appropriate modalities of action. The analysis made by the ADDPD personnel identified opportunities and taking advantage of the favourable geographic location: FLAG area for travel and/or ecotourism, fishing, increased demand for fish products, traditional and/or innovative/sophisticated and less exploited species (crayfish, clams, etc.), development of organic aquaculture development potential investments in processing and aquaculture products etc. The development scenario resulting from the consultation activities undertaken by the FLAG personnel and partners proposes broader action for the development of the local Prut-Danube area from integrated development action to restore competitiveness, environmental and touristic potential up to re-build identity around items of local tradition.

Therefore, it has outlined the overall aim "to promote economic growth, diversification, social inclusion and job creation in communities. Lessons learnt and experience gained since 2011: experience as a result of setting up and application of the procedures on our structure s work; expertise in knowing the needs of the territory and communication; acquisition of professional expertise specific to the evaluation, implementation and monitoring of projects/monitoring; strengthening the role of FLAG specific associative structures in Galati. ADDPD Galati continues its strategic role in the area by signing on 27th of March 2017 a new contract for the Strategy of Development with Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development - DGP AM POPAM 2014-2020. The amount of the new strategy is 2.000.000,00 Euro.

Polluted areas in the region of Atanasovsko Lake

Atanasovsko Lake is a lake located within the borders of Burgas, between the neighborhoods of Izgrev and Sarafovo and west of them. It is part of the Burgas lake complex and borders on the east through Atanasovska “kosa” (which is about 1 km long strip of sand) with the Black Sea. The lake is coastal and offers a great diversity of flora and fauna, some of which are protected by the Biodiversity Act and are globally endangered. Atanasovsko Lake is connected by numerous canals with the Black Sea, through which it is drained. Unfortunately, the beautiful and romantic lake is heavily polluted with household waste, especially in the area of the bird observatory, along the canal, which starts from the area around the Lukoil gas station, to the round crossroad at the beginning of the Izgrev complex. We would like to invite everyone who has the opportunity to participate in the cleaning on August 21, 2020.
