Campaign for Separate Waste Collection "Book for Garbage" will be held from 17 to 27 August 2019 in the town of Malko Tarnovo
The launch of the campaign will start on 17th of August with promotional materials to encourage locals to collect and dispose the garbage separately. A truck and containers for separate waste collection will be purchased under the project MARLENA: Marine and River Litter Elimination New Approach. MARLENA is aimed at joining forces against pollution along the Black Sea coast and rivers, protected areas and nature reserves near the Black Sea basin.
Many games and surprises have been prepared for the children and residents of Malko Turnovo. For those who love hiking in nature, a hike will be organized near the springs of river Mladejka. Participants will clean up this attractive hiking trail.
The thematic conference "Good Waste Management Practices and Results of Surveys in the Black Sea Region" will be held on 21st of August and participants will be informed about the studies carried out on major pollutants and how to reduce pollution in the partner regions.
