A Thematic Conference with the Local Stakeholders in Demirköy was orginized

A Thematic Conference with the Local Stakeholders in Demirköy was orginized

On 9 October, Demirköy Municipality held a Thematic Conference on Protection of Nature and Waste Management in Igneada.

 

During the conference, the project activities, priorities of the ENI Cross-Border Cooperation Program in the Black Sea Basin and the MARLENA project and the expected results were introduced.


Since March 2018, the Demirköy Municipality has been implementing the MARLENA project in frame of the first call for proposals of ENI CBC Black Sea Basin Programme with
the national authority of the Presidency of the European Union, General Directorate of Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation in Turkey.

 

As a result of the study of good practices, one of the important studies of the project, 5 good practices from the region and national level were identified. In addition to these 5 good practices, good practices from all participating countries - Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and Moldova have been searched and all information published in a joint guide.


During the meeting Kırklareli Governorate Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanism established in the province Sea Waste Management Commission works were announced. In addition, Kırklareli Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate experts provided information about the waste management practices of the National Park Longoz Forests in Igneada.
