Forest Week 2020 –My Tale of the Forest. As an alternative to all cancelled Forest Week 2020 events, which are usually held on the first full week of April, this year form 6th to 12th, the Regional Forest Directorate is issuing a challenge to all children to write, draw, and create works inspired by Forests. While at home, kids can reminisce about their experiences and emotions related to Forests, or simply use their imagination to draw inspiration. The goal of the initiative is to encourage young people to express their emotions through art, as well as to emphasize the importance of forests and teach the new generation how to properly care for and preserve the environment. There are no age restrictions or limitations about the genre of the artworks. We welcome all stories, fairytales, poems, essays, or pictures of drawings. The works must be sent with the name, age, contact number, town of residence, and school of the young conservationists at press@iag.bg until the 30th of April 2020. All submissions will be published on the Directorate’s website and its related pages. In autumn, all participants will have the opportunity to afforest land themselves, guided by foresters and forest officials.
