On 20.07.2020 in the town of Aytos was held a ceremony for opening the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The project is funded by the Operational Program "Environment" (OPE). The total value of the investment is nearly 18.3 million. BGN, as OPE is a grant of 13.5 million. BGN
The project has successfully completed the two main activities - construction of the treatment plant, of bringing and discharging collectors and accompanying infrastructure to the WWTP. The load of pollution and treatment is over 20,000 eq. residents. The second completed activity covers the completion of the main branch I and main branch III of the sewerage network of the town of Aytos and all ancillary facilities - overflows, retainers, shafts, etc.
The project helps to improve the quality of life of the population in the municipality by providing a healthy and favorable environment and preserving the rich natural heritage on the basis of sustainable development. The project favors the protection and improvement of water resources in Aytos.
