Training in Malko Tarnovo

On September 10th -11th , 2020 in the premises of Community Center “Prosveta 1914” in the town of Malko Tarnovo was held a training "Waste management and protection of water purity in national parks and protected areas, good international practices, results of investment measures".


The event was implemented within the project: " Marine and River Litter Elimination New Approach", MARLENA ref No: 139, which aims to join forces of different stakeholders against pollution of coastal areas, rivers, protected areas and nature reserves in the Black Sea basin.


During the training a number of interesting topics were presented, such as: Protected areas and nature parks in Bulgaria and Burgas region; Good regional and international practices for conservation of biodiversity and cleanness in protected areas and nature parks; Good and bad practices for conservation of purity and biodiversity in Strandzha National Park; Good practices in Burgas district for reduction of water pollution; Transboundary cooperation for the protection of water purity; Existing strategies and plans in the field of waste management. Among the invited lecturers are representatives of RIEW Burgas, Strandzha National Park, local and regional institutions.


In addition to the topics covered, the training included a presentation of the main activities and results of the project: " Marine and River Litter Elimination New Approach ", MARLENA, as well as a discussion: How to preserve cleanness in protected areas and Strandzha Nature Park.
