Association for Sustainable Development "Prut - Dunare" Galati, partner in the project "Marine and Waste Disposal, New Approaches - MARLENA" BSB139, financed by the Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Program 2014-2020, organized the Opening Conference Event.
The works of the event took place on October 25, 2018, starting at 10.00, at the Great Hall of the Galati County Council and Hall 1, at Eroilor Street no. 7, 800119 Galati.
According to the Work Agenda, the event started at the General Hall of the Galati County Council, where representatives of local authorities, academics, representatives of civil society received with openness and confidence the project "Marine and Marine Waste Disposal, New Approaches - MARLENA", on which The Association for Sustainable Development "Prut - Danube" Galati, as a partner, implements it. At the same time, a French delegation representing the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Council, visiting the Galati County Council under the Decentralized Cooperation Program 2015-2017, praised the FLAG Galati initiative to develop cooperation projects in the Black Sea Basin and expressed interest against the expected results of the MARLENA BSB139 project.
The works at the opening conference continued in Hall 1 of the Galati County Council, where representatives of academia, civil society and the media together with representatives of FLAG Galati, Elena Steluta Cardas (Project Coordinator) and Corina Sofrone (Financial Officer) the activities that the partner organization is about to implement over the 24 months.
FLAG Galati, PP3 under the project "Marine and Waste Disposal, New Approaches - MARLENA", BSB139, has debated the issues of waste and its impact on wetlands, especially the natural environment in general.
The conclusions of the day were translated into a press release that was submitted for publication in the regional daily Monitorul de Galati.
